The Jink & Diddle School of Scottish Fiddling

Traditional Scottish Fiddle Music

Music Downloads

Here are the music resources for Summer Jink 2017.

In addition to the collections listed below, if you have copies of Fiddletree Manuscript and/or the Jink Anniversary Collections, please bring those with you too for Dr John's Special Topic class.

Please bring a hardcopy of each collection with you to camp.

Some form of flexible binding for each collection is advised.  It is suggested that you download all files to your local file system (look for them in your Downloads folder) before printing.  Trying to print or save a version that you are viewing in your browser may lead to problems.

The Scottish Country Dance Sets will remain virtually unchanged again this year.
  • If you already have a copy from 2013 or 2014 (no date on the green cover) or you printed your own copy in 2015 or 2016, you do not need to print this collection again.  There will, however, be two inserts which you will need to print and pop inside your Dance Set binder - unless you retained the "Insert to Replace Set 10" (from 2016) listed below.  We will use that arrangement again.
  • If you don't have a copy of the dance music from 2013 or later, it would suffice to print the arrangements given here, along with the cover and the inserts mentioned above.  However, if you would like to make a corrected version of the book, please do as follows, from this link.
    1. Print "SCDFlierProg2017MusiciansLegend.pdf" - a single sheet
    2. Print "Lichted_Ha_for_Violin.pdf" items 1 through 9 inclusive (single or double sided)
    3. Omit the 2 pages of sheet music for item 10.
    4. Print "Lighted Ha' Replace10.pdf" - a single sheet - and number it "10".
    5. Print the remainder of Lichted_Ha_for_Violin.pdf (single or double sided - if the latter, FIRST PAGE IS LEFT - or print on the back of the Insert)
    6. Assemble your dance music book as follows - Legend; items 1-9; Insert; remainder.
If you plan to attend the group classes for less-experienced players and want to work on some of the music ahead of time, you might like to concentrate on '45 Easy Pieces.'

The last item listed is for Rachel Barton Pine's Theme Pod classes.
